but why~

well we have definitely entered the why face at our house. it literally happened over night. all of a sudden curls just started responding to everything we said with "why". i have to admit that i am not all that excited. i try really hard to be patient and not just say "because i said so" but after about the tenth "why", i break down and usually say "because that is just the way it is".

today we were supposed to go on field trip with mom school to a local apple orchard. curls was really excited and was ready to go this morning. however we got a phone call about an hour before we were supposed to head out saying that it had been postponed until thursday due to rain. curls was really sad and you can imagine what he had to say......

BUT WHY?

so we looked outside at the rain and he even acknowledged that it was cold out and so we decided that a trip to the store would be a better option for today than a trip to the apple orchard. maybe later this week if the weather permits. i had to take a few other pictures of him with his new shirt on. i got it at target for $3.49. i just think he looks so handsome in it.

(he loves this hat. for some reason he calls it his conductor hat. who knows! =)

onto baby news, today is 18 weeks. woo hoo! almost half way done. i always like to read this one website to see what it has to say each week about baby! this is what it says for this week.

Your baby's ears are now facing forward and are completely formed so she can actually hear you talking now. This week is also the beginning of ossification. And while that sounds like some long and involved paperwork you'll have to fill out, it's really a fancy medical term for the hardening of your baby's miniature bones. And that's a good thing.Your baby's nerves are making more and more complex connections. Her sense of smell, taste, sight and hearing are all developing. A substance called myelin, which makes nerve connections travel faster, is now coating your baby's nerves.Your baby now weighs between 5 and 7 ounces and is about 5½ inches long—about the size of a pickle from the corner deli. (You're familiar with pickles, right? Your regular accompaniment to a big bowl of ice cream?)

Get used to the "WHYS" they never stop from this point on, and the older they get the harder they are to answer, Hayden quite often gets the answer "you'r giving me a headache from having to think too hard!" from me...LOL
YAY for being 18 weeks! Times flies!

I concur. Why's will now be a part of your life for the duration, but you will get better at filtering and you will only hear the first few eventually and then the rest drift off in the land of nod. Unless he is really smart and masters the art of grabbing your face and making you answer. ; ) Glad everything is going so well. Isn't it exciting to see a week by week basis. I think it is so cool.

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley
