Cuties

This Girl has an addiction. A serious addiction.
Remember how I said she was addicted?? Well I had one of these land on my face around 1 am. This little lady had half woken up in the middle of the night, went in the kitchen, opened the fridge and then came and climbed into bed with me to have me open it. Only she was already back asleep by the time her head hit the pillow. Like I said... She might have a small addiction!

Birthday Dinner!

So for my birthday my awesome Sister and Brother in law took Garran and I out to dinner.
We had a really great time and the food was amazing!!
We had a lot of fun together and I was even sung Happy Birthday very loudly....and then instructed to stand up in front of everyone and dance.
Yes.
IN. FRONT. OF. EVERYONE!
So thank you to Joe, Jerusha, Garran and everyone in the restaurant for tolerating my sweet dance moves!!

Family Time

So my SIL Jerusha is at Girls Camp with her oldest three children, and so we are watching her youngest three for the week.
Last night was their first night with us.
Things were crazy, but in a good way.
Everyone running around, playing and having fun.
Right before bed, the following conversation happened.

Conversation between Briea and my niece Alaina tonight.
A: Briea, isn't your favorite color pink?
B: yes it is. What is your favorite color?
A: well my first favorite color is Rainbow and my second favorite color is fink.
B: did you say fink?
A: yes, it's my nickname for pink!

And then when I checked on them later, this is how they fell asleep!
I think it is so funny how Alaina's head is hanging off the bed!!

My little Comedian

I can honestly say that my life would not be nearly as funny if I did not have this boy. He thought this was hilarious.

Sugar

So, I was going to post this on Facebook, but decided not to because B is only in her underwear in it. But it is so funny, I wanted to put it on her since this is a family journal of sorts.
I just crack up every time I watch it.

Hospital

Today the kids were playing hospital. Here is Ayla on the stretcher. It was so funny.
Later they brought in Briea on the stretcher. (Really one of those bed rail things)
After they brought Briea in on the stretcher, Cullan had the following conversation with Garran.
Cullan: Doctor, (addressing Garran) We have done her X Rays and her brain, stomach and lungs are fine, but we found that half her brain is missing!!

It was so funny to watch Garran try and keep a straight face.
I love the funny things that kids come up with.

Instructions. By Cullan

I don't know if I have mentioned this before, but I love Cullan. He cracks me up!
This is so his little personality shining through.
I am constantly hearing how he is an old soul in a young body.
He is a special kid.
I am glad that he is mine!!

close, but not exactly

tonight Cullan and Kael went and found their dad to ask him something. I heard Cullan correct Kael over what ever he had said to Garran. Then as they were headed back upstairs I hear Kael say to Cullan, "I was just trying to Syrup him up!!". Close my dear... I think what you mean is "Butter him up!".

Married...And Daddy's not Happy

Today Garran and I went to pick up Briea from preschool.
She came out happy and bubbly as usual.
When she got in the van, she announced to us that while at school she had gotten married.
I guess she decided to marry a little boy named Cody.
When Garran heard this he kind of grumbled under his breath.
Then, from the back of the van we hear her say in a giggle..."I kissed him on the cheek!!".
To which Garran let out another grumble!
Then she proudly showed us a picture.
This is Briea and Cody getting married.
I know Garran grumbles partly to be funny but also because I know the idea of some boy around his little girl...not matter the age puts him on edge! I think that is pretty typical of any father. All though he did tell Briea that he needed to meet this Cody kid next time he takes her to school! LOL

Halloween Laugh.

(warning, while reading this, you will understand why I don't get nominated for Mother of the Year. It might sound a little mean)
while we were out trick or treating last night I had such a good laugh at the expense of my son Kael.
It had gotten dark and we were at the end of the neighborhood and hitting the last street before we headed home. Kael had gotten ahead of the group by one house. So he ventured up to this house with a ghost by the door. These people had rigged a smoke machine to their doorbell, so when you pushed the bell, the smoke came shooting out from under the ghost with some force. Kael pushed that doorbell, anxiously awaiting the door to open and instead got blasted with smoke all around his feet. He came flying off that porch, mouth open wide, screaming like a wild man!!! I was laughing so hard. I was bent over I was laughing so hard. (like I said, I know it makes me sound horrible). Kael made it all the way back out to me, realized how hard I was laughing and started laughing too. He looked at me and said "Mom, that house really scared me!". The people were so nice. They came out to give him candy and tried to apologize for scaring him so badly. Unfortunately I was still laughing uncontrollably. I know. It sounds bad, but it really was SO FUNNY!!

gum.

For some reason this child decided it would be a good idea to stick his gum in his armpit.
WHY??
I do not know.
Sometimes I wonder why my children do a lot of the things that they do.
We decided to try and use peanut butter to get it off because it would not come off with a rag.
Peanut butter did the trick.
Go Figure.
Guess we will see what happens tomorrow!

notes.

Cullan leaves us little notes all over the place to find.
This one made Garran laugh so much that he brought it to me.

Bass!

Sometimes when we are riding in the car, I put this children's cd on for the kids. One of the songs, "the Itsy bitsy spider" has quite a bit of bass. I always laugh because the same thing always seems to happen. First people pull up next to our van and look at me like "What in the world are you listening too with all that bass?". Then if the windows are down and they actually hear. I always laugh when they realize we are rocking out to "Itsy bitsy spider"!

our story

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."
