Fire Pit LOVE

Recently we got a fire pit..
Oh how we love it.
We love sitting outside around the fire and just hanging out or doing other fun things..
Like this night.
We let the kids cook hotdogs and make smores!

 It was so relaxing.
It was nice to have everyone together and just be able to enjoy a night as a family!

Trick or Treat-Trunk or Treat....Halloween in General

So this year we did Trunk or Treat at church, Trick or Treat in neighborhoods and then a Cub Scout Halloween Party! It was a busy holiday to say the least!

Family Pictures

I don't want to give to much away, but this year is Garran's last year in school at Northern Illinois!!
So this year we decided it would be fun to do our family pictures in Northern Illinois shirts. This is just a picture I snapped with my cell phone. My friend Becca has a photography business. Rebbeca Borg Photography,  and she has done our family pictures since we moved her. She does a great job. I can't wait to see the cute shots she got. I am going to keep our family picture and Christmas Card idea a secret. I am trying to come up with something really fun!

Yeager Farms

I was lucky enough to go on a field trip with Kael today to the Pumpkin Farm.
It was freezing, but at least the rain held off until we were done.
Here are all the cute little pumpkins out front. I thought I would take a picture while waiting for the bus to get there.
 and....they have arrived!
The two kindergarten classes piling off the bus. If you look close, Kael is just coming off the bus.
Here is Kael with his class. They all look so cold...probably because it was.
Farmer Tom. He is such a nice man. He came to talk to the kids and tell them about the day.
Off to the pumpkin play land!
 Conductor Kael.
 Cute sign for the farm.
The kids loved all of the play areas that the farm had. I have to admit, it would be an awesome back yard.
Of course they had animals, which Kael loved.
He had such a good time feeding them and talking to them.
 Who is this handsome kiddo?
Oh that's right, it's just my adorable son.
lining up for the hay ride.
 pumpkin express ready to roll.
Everyone snuggled together for the ride out to the pumpkin field.
 time to pick a pumpkin!!!
Kael picked his pumpkin and we headed back for the bus. It was good to because on the way back it started raining. It was a fun but chilly time!!

doctors & dates

I had to go into the city for a doctors appointment this afternoon.
Garran came with me so that we could have a date as well. Don't you just love the gowns!
Lovely!
After we were done with the doctor, we walked around downtown for a little while and went in some stores and just enjoyed seeing all the different things you get to see while your in the city.
They had a series of gardens with the dragons that looked like they were diving from one  to the next...very cute.
A statue on her way home.
 Lake Michigan at sunset.
 and last but not least...
Barbie greeting all the traffic that this little work van meets.
We went to dinner at this wonderful little restaurant called, Spacca Napoli.
It was a beautiful night, so we sat outside.
The food was delicious!!
and my date was pretty cute.
I was happy...I love date nights!!
after dinner we walked around again for a little while and then found this place.
I took a picture for my step dad... His name is George.
They had the most delicious ice cream.
They were rated one of the top places in Chicago to go for dessert.
 My dessert was DELICIOUS!!
However it was very rich.
I could not even finish it.
We also decided to bring some treats home for the kids.

We thought these animal cookies would be a hit...and they were!!
Such a fun day with the hubby!
I hope we get to do it again soon!

Fall Pictures

Last year and this year, I have asked my friend Becca to take some family pictures of us, so that we have something to put on our christmas card.
So about two weeks ago, we went and did pictures.
These are just a few from the day.
I am saving the family one for our christmas card.
So if you want to see our family, make sure I have your address!! ;0)

Their are a bunch more. Maybe I will post some on facebook in an album or something!

our story

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley
