a walk down memory lane~

while my dad was here i was able to get some old pictures from him of the boys that i lost when our computer tanked last summer. because i think my children are adorable, i thought i would share them!
grandpa and cullan

grandpa and kael

(i think he was maybe a week old)

kael-look at those chunky legs!

my cute boys and grandpa

i can not believe that cullan was that little. it seems so long ago.

last one. can you tell these all came from my dads camera!

another visit & updates~

my dad came up the other day to visit. we celebrated a late christmas and his birthday. we had dinner with a birthday cake afterwards. then the next day we took the boys swimming at his hotel. they LOVE to swim. so they had a blast! --------------------
prego update:
here we are at 30 weeks.
baby doing good as far as we can tell.
i finished my nasty glucose test with flying colors.
this kiddo is getting bigger by the day.
garran thinks she will be bigger than the boys.
i am hoping he is wrong.
the boys were big enough for me!!
oh and ps. bring on the braxton hicks.
i never had them this early with the boys.
guess each time really is different.
some times i still cant believe i post these pictures. however sometime i want to be able to look back and remember this. so everyone else is going to have to suffer through these posts with me.
--------------------------------------------
on a whole other note. I HATE OUR COMPUTER!! it has been nothing but trouble since the day we bought it. tonight we tried for almost three hours to hook up a wireless router. it still does not work. our home teacher was even stumped when he stopped by. our computer is so stubborn. garran said maybe we should leave some kind of offering in front of it tonight and hope that it comes around to our side by the morning!
i have given up for now-maybe tomorrow i will try my luck again.
on the box it says four easy steps to set up this router.
we did those four plus about a million more!!
so FRUSTRATING!

christmas with garrans folks~

next on our christmas adventures was a trip to my in laws house to do some christmas celebrating with them. the boys also enjoy spending time with garrans family too.
here are a few highlights of our trip and time out there!
-this is how you can tell when your kids are getting a little tired of traveling. cullan put himself in his pillow case and fell asleep.--this year we drew names for families instead of drawing individuals names. we decided to do date nights or family nights baskets. we got garrans parents name so we did a date night basket. it was so much fun to put together. i had to hold it on my lap because i was worried about it tipping over. so you guessed it, it was on my lap the whole trip there!-

-the boys opening presents-

-cullan helping grandma with their gift to them-

-just a picture of my cute husband-

-can you tell my hubby is around more now that he is on break. i am trying to take as many pictures as i can to remember that he was actually with us. LOL-

-yep that is kael eating a small candy bar, paper and all-

-cullan has a love of glasses right now. he found these play glasses at grandmas house and wore them almost the whole time-

-the boys "helping" grandma make cookies. i am not sure how much help they were but they sure had fun.-

-cullan cutting out sugar cookies--delivering his hard work to daddy and uncle sam. willing taste testers! --really getting into helping. he loves to cook, bake, anything that has to do with making stuff in the kitchen. who knows maybe we have a chef in the making.--candy cane in one hand, on the look out for cookies. i think both my boys got a little spoiled on the sweet treats that seem to accompany christmas time.-

we had a nice visit with garrans family and then headed home. while we had a great time, it is nice to be home. especially since we have nothing but nasty weather in the forecast. oh well. we are grateful for the time that we were able to visit with all our family and that we were able to do so safely.

we have had a very merry christmas and hope everyone else did too!

out-takes~

whenever we are all together we always try to get family pictures. if not family pictures at least pictures of each couple etc. sometimes the out takes are better than the actual photo. so i thought i would show some of the mess ups before showing the ones that we will enjoy.

-first my mom and george-
-to much flash, not enough smiles--caught in a cuddle--do what--perfect-

next my little sister, her boyfriend, and my parents.

-kind of hard to see those bunny ears huh?-
-thats better-

then it was our turn. please keep in mind i get very puffy in my face towards the end of my pregnancy's. i did not realize it was so bad until i saw these. oh well. memories of being pregnant.
-garran always has to start things off being silly-
-not paying any attention to the photographer-
-one of garrans many smiles-
-parenting while posing, never a dull moment-
-cheesy-
-as good as its going to get!!-

then the group shot using my new tripod. i was having some issues with my self timer. you can tell it took a few tries by the looks on every ones faces. i know there are a lot but they are so funny. it cracks me up every time i look at them. so you guys will just have to be patient with all of these!
-this was the first of many. trying to make sure it was centered, leveled and everyone was in the shot-
-the boys got loose. sara missing to chase them down-
-starting to loose some of them. can you see it in their faces. especially garran and jeremy-
-kids back, george missing. trying to help me with the auto timer-
-i knew by this point i only had a few more tries-
-begging for patience and trying not to get frustrated myself-
hold on whats that....

-PERFECTION!!!!!-
or at least good enough for us!!

christmas with my folks~

each year we rotate and juggle the holidays between traveling to see different sets of parents and family. this post is going to show my visit to see my mom and george. we had a great visit and the boys were sad to go. cullan hid behind their couch when it was time to leave. sadly on christmas day there was an accident and the sweet dog in the picture is no longer with them. we will all miss her. she was a sweet puppy.(bailey-kael-cullan)

-bailey-

patiently waiting to open their gifts.
(kael and cullan tearing in)(my mom with the bag we got her. she was pretty surprised)(garran with his new awesome pillow! he got one for me for christmas but then as i tried mine out and went on and on about it, my mom went and got one for him too)

(my new warm slippers)

*please pay not attention to how extremely white my legs are, i know they are almost blinding*

(the boys got a play kitchen that they love)

(my sister sara and her boyfriend jeremy came over later in the day to visit)

(aunt sara and cullan)

(can you tell cullan is excited. maybe just a little. galloping through the room)(my grandmother nanny, laughing because she guessed what her present was before she even opened it)

we had such a good visit with my family and enjoyed being able to spend some time with them during the holidays. the boys are excited for our next visit. they are already asking when we can visit grandma and grandpa again!

our story

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley
