Miss B

This little lady has so much personality.
She loves being a girly girl.
She loves make up and hair.
Dresses and baby dolls.
Princesses and Fairies.
She is the sweetest thing and I am glad I get to call her mine.

Recents.

Just wanted to post some recent pictures of the kids. It has been a while and we did not get family pictures this year.

Blue and Gold

Cullan had his first Blue and Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts the other night.

Look how handsome he is. I am one lucky mom.
Each boy had to do a model of an invention.
Cullan was assigned a rocket.
This was his.
My sweet Cullan.
This night he was getting his Bobcat.
For some reason when they put the Bobcat on the kids, they have to turn them upside down. I don't actually remember why. But it makes for a cute picture.
Each scout that was given a badge got a pin to give to their mother's as well. It was to thank them for supporting them.
Cullan's Bob Cat Badge.

Perfection

I love this picture and here is why:

  • I love that Briea is laughing and has a great smile on his face.
  • I love that it captured a moment in our lives that I dont want to forget.
  • I love that Garran is squished in behind us. (if you knew the situation, it is so typical)
Garran was ready for bed but Briea wanted to snuggle. Garran always seems to get booted when the kids wedge in. This was him pretending to be grumpy and make a mad face.

I love my family. With all the good and the bad. Our perfect imperfection. I will take it all!

Valentines Day Dinner

Well, once again we celebrated Valentines Day with our family dinner by candlelight.
This year we did a fruit and cheese spread.
It was kind of a throw together  because we had a snow storm that messed up my plans to go grocery shopping for the original dinner.
We still pulled it off. We got everything decorated and ready for our  night.
Ayla was not feeling well, but she was the first to the table and in a princess dress non the less.
I made Pineapple whips for a fun drink.
Briea was so cute. She asked me to put one of the flowers in her hair like if she was out on date.
My favorite Valentines!
So grateful for each and everyone of them.

Sick Day

Today was a sick day for Ayla and I.
Sore throats and runny noses.
She is so much cuter than I am when I am sick. I took some pictures of her.
This little stinker was laying on my bed with me. When I came back she had these two suckers. I asked her where she got them from and she just shrugged her shoulders. She had them stashed somewhere, just waiting for the right moment.
such a stinker.
oh well. At least on a sick day she still makes me laugh.

2 years

Today is the two year anniversary of this sweet boy leaving this world. We miss him so much and think and pray for him often. Our families grew together and we watched new children come into both of our families. Never did I think we would have to watch our sweet friends say goodbye to one. Our thoughts and prayers our with Ed and Stacy, and all their family today. We love you and wish we could be there with you.

Baby Ninja!

This little girl is so funny! Garran told all the kids to go to bed. I came down the hallway from getting some water to see a lump under a blanket crawling into our room. I could not stop laughing. She was slithering in super slow. She cracks me up! She is just a snuggler.

our story

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."
