First Day of School (2014-2015)

Miss B started Kindergarten.
Sigh.
How did this happen....
She looks so grown up.

 Cullan started 3rd Grade!
Sigh.
For the same reasons.

 And Kael...
My Sweet 2nd Grader...
Triple Sigh.
Live just keeps moving on.

Here's to the start of a Great School Year!

School Projects.

Every month, Kael's teacher sends home a project for the kids to do for the month. In March, they had to come up with a leprechaun trap. This was Kael and his trap. Our week had been kind of nuts, so we didn't get to decorate it as much as we normally would have, but I still think it came out pretty well.

Winter Concert!

Kael had a winter concert that his class put on at Barnes and Nobles. It was very sweet. Each class sang one song. Kael's class sang " I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas!" I only got a snip of it because we were face timing with my mom so she could see it LIVE! So grateful for technology!

Kael's Awards Day

Even though I get really annoyed with kids awards programs at school these days, I still went to support Kael at his.
He received three awards.
Terrific Kid
Beary Best Citizen
Academic Star
 We sure love this kid!

A terrific kid.

So Kael was picked as a Terrific Kid at school.
But I already knew he was terrific!
He is such a great kid, but I am proud of him for getting picked!

2013-2014 Teachers.

 Doesn't Cullan look excited.
I love the look on his face.
Luckily, he has an AWESOME teacher!!
Kael and his 1st grade teacher. Also a great lady!
So happy the boys got lucky this year and both landed wonderful teachers!

First Day of School.

How is this possible. A second and a first grader???
Where has the time gone.
Where are my babies.
Instead I have these two... Ready to rock out in a new school year.
This time they are starting school in NC.
I can hardly believe my kids are going to be growing up here.
 My big 1st grader.
 My big 2nd grader.
 My whole crew.
The girls were really excited about dropping the boys off at school and seeing their classrooms. After all, Briea will be in kindergarden next year.
After we dropped the boys off, we went to Sam's to run some errands and ended up having lunch there.
I am trying to take advantage of every minute I get to spend with them. I know that just like the boys, they will be in school and growing up even faster than I can handle.
Who wouldn't want to soak up as much of these sweet faces as possible.

Briea's last day

Breia's last day at pre-school was sad.
I really loved her teacher. She had both Kael and Briea.
These were the gifts we made for Mrs. M and Mrs. O.
Briea waiting for school to start.
  First day and last day!
So glad that she had such a great experience.

Let's go to the Zoo!

Last week Cullan's class went to the zoo and I went along as a chaperone.
It was a cold and a rainy day. But we tried to make it as fun as possible.
Here is Cullan hanging out by the giraffes.
They were all inside because it was so yucky outside that day. They had a new baby that we were all excited to see.
This guy was just reaching up to have a little lunch.
Cullan and his new friend smiling for a picture.
We hung out with another mom and her group as we went around the zoo. The kids were so good.
Here they all are hanging out by the polar bears.
Cullan and I hanging out after lunch. Trying to stay warm and dry.
 Cullan as a peacock.
I love all the color on these birds.
The kids got to check out this cool shell and touch it. It was pretty interesting.
Then they all hoped on this boat to check out a video.
 Some turtles...just hanging out.
Cullan with some extra long arms... with some help from his friends.
Cullan by a waterfall. You just cant see the waterfall. :O)
The camels were the last stop...
then on the bus and off they went to head back to school.
It was a really fun day despite the yucky weather. I feel so lucky when i get to go on field trips or do things at school with the kids. I always really enjoye it.

Spring Sing!!

The boys school put on a concert every year and this year they did it in the spring instead of around Christmas time.
I was not able to go because Ayla was sick, so Garran took the boys and lots of pictures and videos so I would not miss anything.
Here is Kael waiting for the concert to start.
All the kindergarteners singing. They did a Lion King theme.
Kael really loves to sing. He is always walking around the house singing songs or humming to himself.
Then it was the first graders turn. Cullan is towards the end with a plaid shirt on.

This was both Kindergarten and first grade singing together.
I am not sure what they were singing bu tI love how Kael is right up front!

Cullan in the back on the top row. He did an awesome job as well!

from school....

thought i would post some work from the kids.
This is a drawing from Cullan's sketch book. He is always doodling.
Kael got to bring home three different stars with good reports on them.
This is a self portrait Cullan did of himself that I got to see at parent teacher conferences.

our story

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley
