DAY DREAMER

I happened to notice Ayla laying in the grass, watching the clouds, lost in thought..
I love this little free spirit of mine!

4th Activities!

After the parade we went to Colby Park for all the fun that Windsor Heights had planned.
They had live music, which Briea absolutely LOVED. All she wanted to do was dance with everyone in the crowd.
There were Princesses there too. This made the girls VERY HAPPY!!
 Hanging out with my Love!
 My patriotic flower child!
They had a bunch of inflatables set up. It was fun watching the kids play and race against other kids.
 Cullan did pretty well.
So did B considering the girl she was going against was much older.
They had some fun Frisbee spin art...
 and Balloon animals!
Here is our crew listening to live music and waiting for the fire works.
 My silly girl.
 These boys crack me up..
Ninja Cullan with balloon nun chucks
Briea practicing her hula hoop skills.
Somebody can no blow a bubble!!
 Miss B.
Muffin loved rolling in the grass.
 Mr. Hula Hoop
He actually has some pretty sweet hula skills.
 Ayla and some popcorn.
Cullan eating some yummy Italian Ice!
One last photo with the Princesses!

4th of July Parade

Monday morning we got up and walked down to the end of our street. Lucky for us.. that was on the parade route. It was a fun little parade. We enjoyed watching as people went by.

Muffin really enjoyed the parade. Especially the part where they threw dog treats to her!
Have I mentioned my kids love parades. They jump and yell and get so excited. Candy.. No Candy.. It really doesn't matter... They just love parades!
They cheered for the wagon train.....
and for the HOT HOT HOT fire truck.
I love this picture of them all jumping up and down... It just makes me happy.
This picture... well it melts my heart. I love t his picture of B with her Daddy!

TY

So Ayla has an imaginary friend name TY.  She talks about him on a daily basis. She has been asking me for about a week if we can have a birthday party for him because it is his birthday. One day while making dinner I found a box cake andthought  why not. Ayla was thrilled and TY got his birthday party! Not sure if this makes me a good mom or slightly crazy, but we all had fun!

Sick Day

Today was a sick day for Ayla and I.
Sore throats and runny noses.
She is so much cuter than I am when I am sick. I took some pictures of her.
This little stinker was laying on my bed with me. When I came back she had these two suckers. I asked her where she got them from and she just shrugged her shoulders. She had them stashed somewhere, just waiting for the right moment.
such a stinker.
oh well. At least on a sick day she still makes me laugh.

Baby Ninja!

This little girl is so funny! Garran told all the kids to go to bed. I came down the hallway from getting some water to see a lump under a blanket crawling into our room. I could not stop laughing. She was slithering in super slow. She cracks me up! She is just a snuggler.

Double Knock Out

Tonight Garran and I were watching Psych. Briea came in and layed down with us. A few minutes later I look over to see this.
Then about two minutes after moving Briea to her bed, Ayla came in to lay down with us.
Yup... This is what I saw just a few minutes later!

Princess Time!

So today was dress up day at our house!
The girls were both princesses and I was the queen. Daddy was the king, even though he was at work. Ayla had a princess dress from Halloween, but Briea did not. So I got down my veil from when I got married and let her wear it. They were so funny and cute running around the house talking about their kingdoms and when the king would get home! I love sweet days like today!

Kindness!

I love when I hear my kids being sweet to each other, when they don't know anyone is around. Tonight I heard Cullan singing to Ayla when she was crying because she didn't want to go to bed. When his song was over she asked for another, I guess he ran out of bedtime songs because all of a sudden I heard him beat boxing!

This girl

She is wild!

Ayla

My sweet beautiful girl

Now she is a Sunbeam!

My heart is aching a little.
I no longer have any babies in the nursery at church.
My little Ayla is a Sunbeam.
She is so excited and I think she loves being with the big kids.
(ps. Cullan moved up to senior primary the same Sunday. Yeah... I might be having a hard time with all of this!)

Cuties

This Girl has an addiction. A serious addiction.
Remember how I said she was addicted?? Well I had one of these land on my face around 1 am. This little lady had half woken up in the middle of the night, went in the kitchen, opened the fridge and then came and climbed into bed with me to have me open it. Only she was already back asleep by the time her head hit the pillow. Like I said... She might have a small addiction!

A style all her own

This kid.
She most definitely has a style all her own.
Usually it includes undies and a pair of shoes, but every once in a while it includes other articles of clothing!
She is crazy and we love her!!

Good or Awful

The other day at church Ayla blew in my face and then said to me
"Good or Awful?" I said good.
She then gave me a thumbs up.
This girl...she makes me laugh.

our story

My photo
Midwest, United States
I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley
