it's official

it's a BLIZZARD out there!
everything is closed. everything is covered in snow. the kids and i are just hanging out today. we can't go anywhere. besides all the snow, the wind is horrible. you can see in the bottom left corner how the wind had been blowing the snow all around. the only thing i wish is that garran was not stuck at work. it would be so much more fun with him here. oh well. hopefully he will get home soon. stay warm out there!
ps. did i mention how thankful i am that the show got postponed. i don't think even we could have made it.

just for fun~

so what happens on a boring afternoon when you have restless kids and you are killing time before you have to meet up with your hubby!
take pictures of your kids, got to a fun website and monster-ize your kids. i took a pic of each of them and then let them help me with the transformation. they were laughing and thought it was hilarious. they especially thought the briea-ghoul was funny!i know briea's is misspelled..oh well. for now it will be ok!
they had a bunch fun tools to distort their faces or make things funky!!
enjoy my little monsters!
oh and one witchty-mama!

laundry day~

today was or i guess i should say today is laundry day. so since laundry is boring and it was a yucky rainy day outside, i decided to take some pictures of my kiddos. so i know everyone is probably sick of seeing my kiddos...but i think they are cute, so tough =) you will just have to ignore another post of pictures. -my silly boys screaming CHEESE--kael showing off his cool gloves-
-pausing for a moment of sweetness-
-kael approving of the job i was doing folding laundry-
-cullan decided to entertain us by doing a little song. we all know from previous post how much he loves to sing-

ok then i had to get a few of my sweet little girl. she was being so cute and smiley.
this one with her tongue always makes me smile!ok and then to add to my cute little girl, check out these booties. my friend niki gave them to her. they are so stinking cute i wanted to post a picture of them too. Thanks NIKI!

so know that i have taken a brake from folding laundry by blogging, i should return so that these clothes get put away and not turn into a huge pile of clothes for my kids to jump in.

fun around the house~

today we ran some errands early in the morning and then we watched conference at home. we have a tradition where i make what we call super bowl food for general conference. i always do a veggie tray with some kind of dip, some wings, some fruit, all kinds of fun stuff. so in between the two sessions we had fun just hanging out as a family and enjoying each others company. briea was being so good. she has been a trooper. over the past few days she has developed thrush. so she has been a little more grumpy than usual. she is still such a sweet baby though.
our boys of course were being little hams. they love the camera. i accidentally took this picture of kael.cullan then saw it on my camera when i was scrolling through some of the pictures and asked if he could do it too. i started laughing because the one with kael was just and accident, but i said sure. so here is cullan being too funny. he is such a cute boy!
then i wanted to take some pictures with the boys because i am always taking pictures, but am never in them. so i decided to hold my camera out and just try and get a few shots with me and my boys. here is how these came out=)my sweet cullanator.do i have some handsome kids or what! i think i might be in trouble down the road.

of course daddy got in on the fun too. i forget what i had them say, but they are always good for a funny picture together.

just cause~

do any of you blog just because..
i am blogging because i have had a long but wonderful weekend. i got to have a semi girls night before the saturday night adult session of stake conference. my friend mandy and i went to dinner and then did a little shopping! today i attended stake conference with garran and the boys. it was wonderful although i have to admit i was a little sad that it is no longer here and now we have to travel an hour to get to the new stake center. oh well. it was fun to ride and talk with garran and listen to the boys sing in the back. plus the boys got to see my husbands family this weekend and they always enjoy that!
i am also blogging because i secretly feel overwhelmed by the upcoming month.
it seems that we have something big going on every single week including just our regular schedule which is hectic in and of itself. so here we go-
WEEK ONE:
this is my week to teach mom school. so i am working on my lesson and getting things ready for that. i also scheduled the mandatory mom field trip for this week that each mom is supposed to plan. we are going to a fire station. i think the kids will love it, i just hope i make it through it.
VOTE!
then on saturday we are going to be celebrating garrans dads birthday!
WEEK TWO:
mom school. plus i have to take cullan to get a full physical. later in this same week we have to take him to a hospital and have a dental procedure done. the stinky thing is, is that he has to be put completely under. ARGG! it makes me nervous. but i want him to have good teeth. oh yeah and that weekend my parents are coming up=) that part should be fun!
WEEK THREE:
mom school. i have an ob appointment for this baby. i am excited to have another ultrasound just to make sure that our lil miss is definitely a lil miss and not a lil mister!! the i turn 28 on the 18th!! it is so weird for me to type that. i can't imagine that i am two years away from 30. i still think of myself as 21. it's like my brain froze my aging process at 21, or maybe im just crazy!
the one exciting thing about this week is that we head to nauvoo! i can't wait. we are taking the boys, and i think they will have a lot of fun.
WEEK FOUR:
hmmm.... basically thanksgiving and family!!
hectic is all i can say
then oh my goodness we start our third trimester and the countdown in on for christmas.
i try not to rush through anything, but i feel like this month is just going to fly. well maybe even the rest of 2008. i know all you other folks are just as busy as i am, but sometimes i think blogging is a stress reliever for me. so maybe this blog was more for me than you, but that's ok right! =)
HAPPY NOVEMBER, HOPEFULLY I WILL GET A CHANCE TO BLOG THIS MONTH! LOL =)

this was us trying on different halloween costumes. cullan loves his thomas outfit. he has asked to wear it everyday since we tried it on. kael is trying to decide between elmo and a lion. but they were just so cute!

and these are the yummy suckers the boys enjoyed after lunch. i love the picture of kael. he is so sweet and i love the backwards hat, sucker and new dino pjs.

daddy top'em hat

mom top'em hat
curls top'em hat

rewind top'em hat

can you tell we are excited for thomas this week!

i am not really sure what i am posting about. i just need a break and figured venting on here would be it. have you ever just had one of those days where you feel frustrated, tired, blah. i feel like no matter what my kids are doing it is not right, when in reality they are just being kids and its me being grumpy. i know we have a long weekend ahead of us, not that i mind that but i think today i am just feeling stressed and grumpy and annoyed with people for not really any good reason. i find that when i am like this i tend to be a little to judgemental about things or people and it just makes things worse. i need to get better at that too. when i am grumpy i should not take it out on other people just because i don't agree with how they do things. oh well that is enough venting---off to make my kiddos some lunch.. hopefully better moods are in my future! (maybe if the boys nap =)
on a side note we found out that Garrans sister is expecting again and so we will have a new little member of the family by next February.. that is pretty exciting!

this is for sargento

he is always teasing me because i am not a hugh star wars fan. i try to watch them with him, but i have a hard time following them and really am just not that interested. i am sure most of you love them, i know that i am in a small group of people that are not big fans of star wars. anyways i saw this and thought of him. maybe this could be our little girl someday, explaining how much she loves star wars! Enjoy.

catch of the day

i came back from outside to find that sargento had found a new way to entertain the boys..
(if your wondering what he is holding them up with, it is the cord to my robe.)
oh the things they come up with!

singing anyone?

Ok so we found out last night that our cable box has a karaoke function. We had no idea, but as you can guess we decided to have some fun with it. Sargento picked out a song for me first and said I had to sing whatever he picked. Can you tell what it is from the words?
Next I picked one for him.. I love the look on his face.. Do you think he was enjoying himself?

and to top it off I got a video... Enjoy!

Diaper Drama!

So our house has been unusually stinky lately. The stinky factor is because we have had an unusual amount of stinky diapers. That has been really yucky but the reason I am posting is not to tell you about our stinky diapers. It is to tell you a funny story. Here it is. Today we were at the store, more just to let the kids get out of the house since everything is closed down. Anyways Curls is running with me trying to find Sargento and Rewind. As we see them, Curls starts booking it down the isle yelling " DADDY". As he does I notice something white hanging out the left inside leg of his shorts. Then there was more and more. That is right his diaper had completely fallen off in the middle of the isle. It did not even slow him down. Sargento and I were dying laughing. Curls was completely oblivious. Ahh Boys ... What would I do without them!

New Place... New Page

Well I decided that since we moved to a new place our blog needed a little help to just to get into the summer mood. We had terrible storms here last night and the boys did not sleep well at all. I will be glad when all this storm mess is over. I found this layout here. It is similar to cutest blog on the block but a little different. Anyways if you are curious just check it out.
I am hoping to do something fun today, I don't know what, but I want to get the kids out and do something besides play inside. I just don't know if the weather is going to hold out. We will keep our fingers crossed.
Also a friend of mine sent me this interview.. It is with M. Russel Ballard. He is talking about our church and how it works with different communities but also about topics that people often get confused about. Anyways I thought it was really good. If you want to take a peek you can click here!
This is just a side note but I have a lot of friends expecting this summer and out of all of them the first arrived while my Internet was down. So congrats to Randy and Rebecca! Your surprise baby boy is beautiful!
Also a friend of mine from high school Jennifer just delivered a wonderful baby girl. She and husband Joe I am sure are more than excited to have the first addition be such a sweet little girl. Congrats to the Whipple family!
More cute babies will be arriving soon I am sure!

Just a quick question......

have you ever wanted to blog, but just don't have anything really to say. that is how i feel right now!

our story

My photo
Midwest, United States
I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley

these are my people! =)
