B Bugs Turn

Well today it was B-Bugs turn to go to her school and meet her teachers.
She was so excited.
We got there a few minutes early so we sat in the car.
B wanted me to put some makeup on her, so I put a little eye shadow on.
We went in and met her teacher, who happened to be Kael's teacher last year, so we were pretty familiar with the routine.
Briea loved her classroom. She already made friends and was having a blast with all the toys.
She cried when we had to leave.
Hopefully she will be that excited when she starts on Tuesday.
She asked to have a picture taken by her cubby.
I love how happy and excited she looks in this bottom picture.
I hope B has an Amazing year in Pre-K!

First Day of School

Well today was the official first day of school.
Cullan and Kael are off on another adventure as a Kindergartner and a 1st Grader.
 My 1st grader.
 My Kindergartner
Cullan waiting to meet his teacher and go to class.
Poor Kael's allergies flared up this morning and so the sun was bothering his eyes.
Lining up to go into the building.
Look at all those Kindergartners.
This is Cullan's teacher in the pink and brown dress. I have not met her yet, but I have heard great things.
On their way to Ms. H's class.
First Rug time with Ms. B.
Getting all the classroom rules.

unbelievable.

I can't believe this.
Monday my husband goes back to school.
Monday...He goes back to school FOR HIS LAST YEAR OF GRAD SCHOOL!
I can not believe we are here, at this point.
I don't know how excited Garran is, but I am over the moon.
We have been in school our entire married life.
I feel like we are actually growing up.
Yes I know we have 4 kids and are both in our 30's but being in school keeps you in a certain state.
I am praying harder than ever that the job market will be in a better place soon and that we will have some sort of employment.

oh what a day!

what a day.
it started with taking Kael to meet his kindergarten teacher.
it was great.
then on the way home i stop to get gas and my card is declined.
long story short.
some one stole our bank info and the bank had frozen our accounts.
sigh.
then i come home from YW to lights and sirens in front of our neighborhood and house.
garran greets me in the garage saying he had to call 911.
i start to get a little nervous to say the least.
so little boys in our neighborhood literally set our backyard on fire.
this is really right out side our back door.
with how dry it has been we are so lucky that it was not worse.
good thing Garran saw it when he did and called 911.
Here is a video of the fire.

meet and greet!

does this picture look familiar?
it should.
i have one just like it of Cullan with this lady last year.
yep, Kael got Cullan's kindergarten teacher and we could not be happier.
I am so excited.
So is Kael.
The first day of school is right around the corner and he is so excited.
Welcome to Kindergarten KB!

not sure what she was doing
 how cute are they?
 foreman ayla

ayla had a run in with the vacuum.

poor girl.

2nd try

Second scope done!!
and the best part is... I didn't wake up in the middle of my procedure.
My anesthiologist had the same name as me and it was spelled the same.
Let me just say you can never go wrong with a Meghan with an H.
Thats my theory anyway.
 here I am post procedure.
you can tell by my awesome hospital hair.
on top of not waking up the 2nd scope looked much better and all is well.
woo hoo!!
any time we go into chicago, garran always wants to go to china town and try a new place. he is in love with dumplings. i have to admit they are pretty good. We tried a few different things and brought most of it home with us. It is funny that my doctors appointments turn out to be our dates, but that is just how it seems to go!
I will take what I can get... especially since my beloved goes back to school next week, and I go back to never seeing him.

Girls Camp.

I am behind on posting. My life has been so insanely busy that blogging has just kept falling down on my list of things to get done.
so here are some catch up posts.
A while ago I got to spend a couple days at girls camp with the Young Women from church.
I was sad that I could not be there longer but enjoyed the time that I was there!!
Here are the amazing girls I get to work with each week. They are a lot of fun and I have really grown to love spending time with them each Sunday!!
They all look pretty darn cute for having been camping all week.
 They young women having fun.
Trust stuff!!

all of the young women at camp built this temple.
pretty impressive i thought!!
Here is Tori and myself.
She was our only first year camper but she did amazing!!
So glad she was able to go and meet lots of people and get to know the other girls.
So glad I was able to spend a couple days at camp with our girls. Had such  great time!

Thanks JCPennys!!

We took advantage of the JC Pennys free hair cuts to kids K-6!
this was before
 this was after!
both looking very handsome and ready for school!!

new look.

well I took Cullan in for his annual pre-school year eye exam.
apparently this kid can not see.
he really had not complained all that much about his eyes, so I was surprised when they said how bad his eyes were.
So they lady helping us was really nice. She brought out almost every frame imaginable and let Cullan try them all on. We narrowed it down to 5, then 3 and this was his final choice.
I think he looks very handsome in them.....
and a little to old for my liking.
Guess I have to give up on him staying little forever!
So in about three weeks, he will be able to see and look very stylish!!

Grandpas

this past week, Ayla made it no secret that she loves her grandpa.
she would wander over to him for a snuggle all throughout the week.
i love this first one.....
but this one is my absolute favorite!
Grandpas are Great!!
(even as I am typing now, Ayla is next to me pointing at the picture saying "Gam pa, Gam pa")

Wedding Weekend.

This is going to be a long one. Hope you are comfy.
We traveled to Iowa to be with Garran's family while Uncle Sam and Ashley got married.
When we all get together it is no small feat.
We had roughly 30 people in my in-laws house, the majority being kids.
Surprisingly things went pretty smoothly for the most part.
So here they are at their reception.
The Happy Couple!!
Sam and Ashley
(they did a reverse reception and had it on Friday and got married Saturday!)
they are so cute and so fun together.
sam loves star wars, so Ashley made these for the two of them. Aren't they cute?
It was a pretty laid back reception. It was decorated very nicely and was by the river. It was fun to catch up with old Iowa friends and visit with everyone.
My favorite part was watching all the cousins interact. They don't get to see each other that often so it is fun to watch them all play together.
So here goes a ton of pictures of all the kids!!

 Haley and Katie
 Briea
Gillespie (mom-dad & kids) minus Silara.

I did not get as many pictures as I would have liked due to weather and having kids running around.
But I still got a few cute ones.
 Uncle Dennis and Haley.
I am not sure what is going on, but I love this picture.

our story

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."
