ROBBED!

Yes.. this time last week, actually to the hour.. we had strangers in our home. They broke in while we were at church. They climbed in through the boys bedroom window and let themselves out through the patio door. They took multiple things.. but what hurt the most was our big computer that had all of my children's baby pictures on it. It makes me sick to think of all those memories.. just gone.
When someone breaks into your home, they don't just rob you of your things.. they rob you of so much more. They rob you of that sense of peace and security that you are supposed to feel while you are in your home. This last week has been hard for me. I have not been sleeping well at night. Every time the dogs bark or I think I hear a noise, my eyes seem to shoot open with some kind of incredible force. No matter how tired I am, they open.. and then I feel that I can not go back to sleep until I check on the kids and the house. I seriously hate that feeling.. It is miserable.
Last night was the worst. I woke up multiple times and then had a nightmare that someone had come in and taken Ayla. I jumped out of bed to go check on her. I ran to her room and she was not in her bed, then I ran to the living room because sometimes the kids will kind of sleep walk out there and crash on the couch. She was not there either. I hit the boys room and at this point was starting to feel sick. I mean, the dream was so vivid. It felt so real. So I ran back to our room to wake Garran up and tell him that I could not find her, only to walk in and see her laying in the bed right next to where I had been.
My heart about sank to my stomach.
I hope this feeling goes away soon. I hate feeling the need to panic at every little sound. I don't wish being robbed on anyone.. I am hopeful we will get our things back due to the fact that we had serial numbers for most of the items and they got finger prints....but maybe that is just wishful thinking. I have yet to even hear from a detective, so we will see.

Date Night with my LIttles...

So this week our house was under construction... Things have been crazy.. So this night I decided instead of trying to rearrange everything to find our table, we would just go get dinner. Garran had to work late and so it was just me and the littles! We went to Mi Casitas! It was delicious and the kids and I had fun chatting and just hanging out together!

School Projects.

Every month, Kael's teacher sends home a project for the kids to do for the month. In March, they had to come up with a leprechaun trap. This was Kael and his trap. Our week had been kind of nuts, so we didn't get to decorate it as much as we normally would have, but I still think it came out pretty well.

Pack Night..

So our cub master recently had to have surgery and so I was asked to plan the monthly pack night. It was a lot of fun to come up with the ideas. I decided to go with a "Minute to Win It" theme.
Here are the different stations.
1. Cookie Drop-they had to put a cookie on their forhead and then wiggle it down to their mouth without using their hands.
2. Defying Gravity-They had to keep multiple balloons in the air without letting any of them touch the ground.
3. I forget what I named this one. However, they had to race to see who could move the most cotton balls from one bowl to another by sucking them up with a straw.
4. Noodle Head- They had to see how many circular spaghetti noodles they get could on an actual long piece of spaghetti, without using their hands.
5. I forget what I called this one too. However this was about team work. One person had to close their eyes and their partner had to guide them to put the colored Gummy Bear in the correct cup!
All in all I think that the boys had a fun night!

Dance Party in the Van..

Some nights we have time to kill before scouts start... so this night we decided to have a dance party in the van when "Happy" came on the radio!! Our whole van was shaking....

New Hair for ME!!

It was seriously about time. I really really needed a new do and some color. I went to a girl that I used to babysit... (insert the sigh at how old it made me feel) but she did an amazing job. I love it so much and I have not stopped getting compliments since I walked out the door of her salon.

Yes it's embarrassing to say that this is a bathroom selfie but I was having such a good hair day even at 10:00 at night... I seriously love my new hair.
It has been a long time since I have been able to say that!

ATTITUDE!

I love her.
She makes me laugh.
To much Tude!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from US!!

Pinewood Derby Time!!

This year was a year of firsts. Cullan's first year in scouts and his first Pinewood Derby. His car is the red one next to the lightening bolt.
I thought he looked so handsome with his shirt on, holding his car.
He was pretty excited once we got there.
The track was all set up and Garran had been asked to help with the races.
All the boys watching the heats of the race.
He didn't win a trophy but his car did win a few races! Not to shabby for his first year!

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."
