parade~

today there was an annual celebration of our town. they had a parade and so we decided that we would take the kids. this was there first parade and i did not know if they would like it or not. so we found a spot on the sidewalk and waited for things to start. cullan and kael waiting very patiently for things to start.the kids found some m&ms in the diaper bag and decided to have a treat. they don't throw candy at parades anymore =(daddy and briea both look really happy to be there don't they. they really did have a good time though.cullan thought the ti kw-an do was really cool! (im pretty sure i butchered that)then came the music. my boys were dancing to the live bands and high school bands. they were so funny clapping and shaking their little booties!kael clapping... i didn't get a shot of the booty shaking =(
of course there were tractors..hello mid west parade!
also friends we know. the little girl in the middle goes to church with us and her mom did mom school with us this year. she was in the parade for gymnastics. of course the highlight was the fire trucks. cullan heard a little boy down the way from us yell "hi fireman, i love you!" very cute so of course cullan yells the same thing and then says "i miss you too!"
this by far is my favorite picture of the day. could he be any cuter or sweeter!
i just love how cute he is with a great big red fire truck in the background!

impromptu~

-PART ONE-
the other day we were supposed to go on a field trip to a dairy farm. well it got canceled. the boys were all sad and disappointed. they really wanted to see some cows and chickens. so garran and i tried to come up with something else to do. first we decided to go to a local museum that we have been to a couple times in the past. we did not spend very long there because there was also a school field trip there.

garran and kael checking out some snakes.i dont know what cullan thought about this. he just kind of starred at it for a while.the boys checking out some wilderness.little miss just enjoying the view!

-PART TWO-

it was raining out so we decided to take the kids to chuck e cheese to just let them play some games. they always love it and we dont to it very often. so we went and got some tokens and just played some games for a while.

kael trying out some ski-bo!

daddy and the boys killing some spiders.

kael riding the roller coaster game. he would only raise one hand going up the hill. i thought it was cute!

getty - up

what a cute cow-boy!!

at the end it all worked out. we are sad we missed the dairy farm but maybe we will just have to plan our own little trip out there sometime!

today we were eating lunch.
we were all sitting at the table and cullan all of a sudden said,

i said "no what?"
"someone is knocking on the door."
(no on was really there.)
"really, i did not hear anything."
"don't worry mom, it's not santa claus!"

what i love~

i love how she smells right after her baths.
i love all of her funny little smiles and her newest funny laugh.
i love her sweet little dimples that you can only see when she smiles just right.
i love that her baby chub is starting to come in and that she is all squishy when you hold her.
most of all...
i love that she is mine!

knock knock~

he is all about knock knock jokes. today this was my favorite.cullan: knock knock
me: whos there
cullan: cullan
me: cullan who?
cullan: cullan the big boy!
"mom i so funny!"

why~

why do some of your children throw tantrums in the middle of the store and some do not?

why when the one who did not throw the tantrum and got a treat for being so good immediately walk in the door and dump the candy on the floor, negating the reason for getting the candy?

just curious!

party...part two~

today we went to my in-laws house to celebrate garrans birthday with them. when we first got there it was still so gorgeous out so we decided to blow some bubbles and just chat. -kael, grandma G, briea-
-grandpa G and briea-
then we headed inside for dinner and cake!

i know that some of you might not understand this look. let me explain. it is the warning look of a little girl who loves her daddy and does not like when i get to close.
remember when i was preggo and said something about garran being wrapped around a certain little girls finger...YEAH TO TRUE!time for cake/pie and some birthday songs.
my husbands side of the family has a birthday song tradition that my boys love...LOVE.
so birthdays are always fun for them even if it is not theirs. so here is a shot of everyone singing.
cullan was there for the party. i know he is not in a lot of the pictures but that is because he fell asleep on the couch. woke up just in time to eat and sing.

tripple~

this may just look like three of the most beautiful children in the world taking a nap...
BUT....

what makes it truly amazing is that they were all asleep at the same time.
THE SAME TIME!
that has never happened. EVER!
i enjoyed two wonderful hours of quiet and productivity.

celebrate~

today we got to do a little celebrating.
since we are all recovering from a little bug, we decided to keep dinner simple.
then for garrans birthday treat i saw a fun idea on the family fun website.
one of garrans favorite meals is hamburgers.
so when i found these, i thought they were cute and perfect.
he seemed to think they were pretty cool.

we decided to sing the long version of happy birthday..gillespie style. the boys seem to really love it!

then we got a good laugh when kael beat garran to the big blow out.

then on to presents =)

after we opened presents we decided to share our cup cakes with some friends. nobody needs that many cup cakes!

29 years have blown right by!
we are so glad that we get to spend your days with you!
happy 29th birthday to the best daddy and husband!

our story

My photo
Midwest, United States
I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley
