blast from the past~

(Newbold-Perkins-Hair)
so recently, missionaries that used to serve here many moons ago, they contacted a family in our area and said they were going to be in town and that there were a few families that they would like to see. so a bbq was planned and we got to catch up and visit. it was so much fun. luckily we had awesome weather too!

when we first got there all the kiddos played on the playground while we got the grills ready!cullan on the slide.
yes he is sporting a tie. it has to do with a platypus named perry. long story!
briea pretty much slept through the majority of the evening.blondie here was so cute. i said say cheese. she did. seriously so cute!this is blondie's older sister. when we first met their family, she was 18 months. it is amazing how time flies!
such a great family. we just love when we get to get together and play with these guys!ed attacking our baby...then he changed his mind and decided to attack some chicken =0)

of course we had to get some group shots in-

guys with the p familyguys with us

it is so crazy. when these guys were here last, we had no babies. in fact we just found out we were expecting cullan the last week Newbold was here!the boys wanted their picture taken with the fellas =0)
i missed some of the families that were there but we had such a good time hanging out and remembering fun times that we had. we hope they have a great rest of their trip and a safe drive home!
here is a funy little extra from our bbq.
so we were all eating dinner and this little girl just walks up to the table from the park and says "can i have some water" we didn't have any so she said "well i just take some sprite then!" we all kind of laughed at her boldness but she took it and left. then her brother came over and said he wanted some. later we were all standing around talking and i looked over and decided to snap this picture. not the best quality but you get the idea.

while we had our backs turned they stole a bag of chips off or table... can you believe it.

crazy kids!!!

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley
