4th of July~

well this year our fourth of july was not exactly how we would have liked but we still had a good time. around 9:00 am we went to a parade. it rained the majority of the time. i was was so sad because i was sure i was going to get some fun pics of the kids and plus who likes to stand in the rain for a parade. we did though and the kids had a lot of fun. it was an impressively long parade and they threw candy, which we were not used to. i think the kids seriously got like 2 lbs of candy! this is not even all of it. it was insane.
it was so funny because at the parade the parade if yelled woo hoo for a certain float they would always throw something fun for the kids. if garran yelled they would not throw anything. we got a pretty good laugh about that. guess i just have a good parade yelling voice =)
after the parade we just kind of hung out. not much to do when it is raining besides just hope it stops and wait for fireworks. well this is lil miss just hanging out. i added it just because i though she looked so cute in this shirt.
so we were waiting for fireworks to start and i stepped on a nice piece of glass. garran had to do a little impromptu surgery on my foot to get it out. needless to say my foot was pretty sore. so we decided not to park downtown to watch the fireworks but to sit up in the park where it is a little more family friendly. plus are kids are not big fans of the big booms that come along with fireworks. while we waited for the fireworks to start, these nice people behind us were letting their kids do sparklers and asked if our kids could have some. so each of the boys got to do a few sparklers. they thought it was great!
then it was time for the big show!

the fireworks were great as usual. however at the end it was way past my kiddos bedtime and they were ready to go. briea was out and we were quickly losing cullan.

can't you tell by that nice big yawn.

we hope everyone had a great fourth!!

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley
