and so it begins~

today we thought it would be fun to take the kids to the summer movie special.
at our local theater they do one movie on Wednesday and Thursday of each week and only charge $3.00 to get in. Plus if your 2 and under its free! GREAT DEAL!!
ok, so im sure everyone has had those days when you plan fun stuff and you get all excited about how much your kids are going to enjoy something.....then slowly your day falls apart!
hang on .....here we go.
garran was supposed to be home at 8:15 this morning...through no fault of his own, he did not get home until 9:00.
we needed to leave by 9:30 and i still needed to shower!
so we actually get to the theater by 9:30. things are looking good. we got seats all together, the kids got their free popcorn, and garran and i got a drink to split.
we sit down with about 20 minutes to kill. (you have to go early because it fills up really fast)
everyone is getting situated and the kids have already started to enjoy their bags of popcorn. so, while we were sitting their watching the silly things they play before the previews even start, i decided i want a drink. i go to pick the cup up and the lid flies off and it goes everywhere.
MAINLY ON ME!!!
what did not get on me landed all in my diaper bag. (yes we took briea and yes she did awesome. i think she was the most well behaved. she slept through most of it=0)
so i was trying to not be grumpy about the fact that i was extremely wet - cold- and worst of all STICKY! plus the movie had not even started yet..
arggggg!
i decide to suck it up and try to enjoy the movie for the kids. they seemed really excited and were having a lot of fun. so while they were sitting and chatting about what they were watching i start trying to wipe out the diaper bag as best i can.. then of course something else has to happen... cullan drops his whole bag of popcorn all on the floor while he was trying to get up from his chair...no the movie still had not started yet!
finally the movie starts, the kids loved it, and while the movie was cute, i would have to admit my favorite part was the nice warm shower i got to take when we got home =0)
ps. we went to go see monsters vs. aliens. very cute. my kiddos are still talking about it!

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."
