G-L Family Chirstmas.

this year we treated Christmas eve as our little family's actual Christmas. we got up Christmas eve morning and opened presents and i even cooked a Christmas dinner. i made my first ever turkey. it came out so well i had to take a picture of it.after we ate. we decorated cookies for friends, that we later delivered. the batch did not make as much as i was hoping so if you are reading this and did not get any, i'm sorry. ;0(however i must say that these cookies were wonderful. i got this recipe from a friend. well i know her through her husband and her blog, we have never met, but it seems like we have. ;0)
we spent Christmas morning with garrans parents and his sister who was here with her family from Alabama. here is grandpa, christmas morning, pulling double duty with alex and briea.briea got her first stroller. it was so cute. she even got a baby from us to put in it.
here is kael with a train. no big surprise. it was actually alex (his cousin) train, but he was nice and let kael play.here is alex, chewing on a nerf gun dart.here are haley and cullan. haley really loved cullan. she kept referring to him as her boyfriend. it was very funny. we all laughed about it. then michaela had to explain to her why we don't date our cousins.here is julia playing with some dolls she got.i am not sure what kael is doing here. i just thought it was cute enough to put on here.i found this last picture as i was going through and trying to decide which ones to post. i just could not help it. look at those pretty blue eyes and big chunky cheeks. i love it.

I'm so glad you liked the cookies! Isn't funny they don't actually have ginger in them?
We do need to meet someday don't we? :)

our story

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley
