Homework!

Ok, so this is Cullan's first homework assignment!
He had to make an "All About Me" poster.
He really enjoyed this.
So here is the finished project first.
This is his drawing of his family members. There is Garran, who is holding Ayla. then myself, Kael and Briea.
 This is Cullan's self portrait.
He then had to cut things out of a magazine of some of his favorite things. I thought his selections were pretty accurate.
Then he had his dislikes. That would be the following.
Coffee, shots, cats (he only dislikes cats, because I am allergic), bugs and lizards!
The last drawing was what he wanted to do when he grew up and then draw a picture.
Cullan thought for a little while and then decided that he wanted to be a missionary. I thought he would say a power ranger, fire man or astronaut. I was wrong. I am ok with that!
 On to the questions.
The first set asked if he had 3 wishes what would they be. Cullans were as follows, just in case you can't read them.
1. Go fishing.
2. That he could do everything his mom says.
3. That he could find the toys his sister hides from him!
The last little bit were questions about him. I actually had to convince Cullan that he did not have black hair. He was pretty sure he did. We came to an agreement that we would put brown down.
I did not get a good picture of Cullan holding this. I will try again on the first day of school. He is so excited and it is coming so quickly!!

I have to admit that I teared up when I saw that he wants to be a missionary. It's hard to think of Oliver's future. I know Oliver will most likely be a missionary in a different way, but it still is hard to think about him not getting his mission call and all of that. What a sweet boy.

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley
