Grandpa Jeff & Pump It Up!

During the holidays we took some time to visit with my dad. He had not had a chance to meet Ayla yet and so we wanted to get that done. We spent the day at Grandpa's house and out playing. Here are the kids hanging out with Grandpa at his place.
After we had visited for a while, Grandpa took everyone to a place called "Pump It Up". It was a lot of fun. They had these huge inflatable slides and play things. The kids could bounce all over the place. They loved it. What was really cool was that the adults could play too. Let me just say. For the first time ever....I think I really felt like I was 30 when I got out of those things!
Kael coming down the slide with Cullan.
Grandpa and Briea coming down the slide.
Garran, Kael, and Briea having some fun. At one point the boys went up on this 20 foot inflatable slide. you were only supposed to go down one at a time (even though the width of the slide was huge). Anyways the boys were both at the top together and they totally had a Thelma and Louise moment. i laughed so hard. cullan told kael to lay on his stomach like him. kael did. then cullan grabbed kael's hand and down they went together, holding hands on this massive slide. even though they were being a little naughty, I could not help but laugh at their expressions.
After pump it up we went home and got cleaned up to go to a family dinner with my dad's side of the family. It was really good to get to see everyone and the kids had fun playing with cousins that they do not get to see very often.
here is Briea with her fourth cousin Kimber (i think, i am not sure exactly what they are, but they are related and born only one day apart)
here is Briea with her third cousin Trevor. she really loved Trevor. She followed him around all night, holding his hand and hugging him.
here we all are with my grandmother. we were really lucky that she was able to come. she had recently broke her hip and had had surgery. she is staying a nursing home while undergoing therapy and so we did not think she would be there. however, they were able to work it out and she was in attendance!!
we had a lot of fun visiting with everyone and being able to catch up.

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."
