the bathroom.

(warning. this post is about the bathroom. just thought i would give warning)
this morning i had gotten up early with cullan. he is our early riser. he always wakes up before anyone else and then comes in and wakes us up. anyways, cullan and i had been awake for a little while and then kael got up. i decided to get up and go to the bathroom. here is where the story begins...and might i add this is pretty typical of anytime i have to use the restroom.
i go into the bathroom and close the door. with in minutes the following happens.
-kael knocking on the door, " mom i have to go to the bathroom!!!!" (i tell him to go to the bathroom upstairs, so he does)
-cullan knocks on the door "where are the sugar cookies from last night?" "can you see my toes under the door?" "what are you doing in there?" "have you seen my mario costume?"
i finally get cullan to move a way from the door only to hear kael upstairs in the bathroom. our bathrooms are directly on top of each other so i could hear his little feet run in. then all of the sudden i hear some shuffling. (because our bathrooms are right on top of each other, the vents serve as a sort of intercom)
so just when i think i have found some piece while cullan is looking for his mario costume i hear...
"mom...it's me Kael!!' "I am in the bathroom upstairs and i went potty!" so at this point i tell him good job and that he should go find some trains to play with or watch scooby doo with cullan. it is quiet for a minute and just when i think i might have won....nope. "mom, are you still there?". me begrudgingly, "YES". "Oh good, knock knock! (after a minute of silence) Mom your supposed to say who's there!"
ps. this is not even the worst because at least no one tried and succeeded to get the door open and join me in the bathroom. i guess i should count that as a small victory!

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley
