Meet and Greet!

Well, today was the BIG day!!
We went to go meet Cullan's new Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. B.
I told him to make sure and use his manners as we were going in. Boy did he ever. He even laid it on pretty thick.
Here is the conversation as we first walked in the door.
Mrs. B- Hi Cullan, nice to meet you.
Cullan- Hi Mrs. B, very nice to meet you.
Mrs. B- Are you excited for kindergarten?
Cullan-Yes
Mrs. B- Well Cullan, did you go to preschool?
Cullan-Well Mrs. B, can I be honest? That is just a long story!
Ahh yes. Starting to school year off on the right foot.
Pretty much from that point on Cullan had her laughing. She commented on how mature and how funny he was. She said she was sure that Cullan would make a wonderful addition to the classroom.
Here is Cullan and Mrs. B
Here is Cullan outside his classroom. He was so excited when he saw the apple with his name on it. I had to laugh and think of my mom. I started having flashbacks of myself having an apple in kindergarten and a traumatic experience of it being taken off the board. That is another story for another day. Cullan was so excited about his school that he did not want to leave. I think we checked out the gym twice and stayed in the library for a while. He kept asking me when he could come back and that he desperately wanted to go back to Mrs. B's room. I was surprised. Cullan is not my most affectionate child, but he gave her a hug as we left. You know he is excited when that happens!
I am sure next week can not get her fast enough for him. I on the other hand am going to try and enjoy my last few days with him at home the best that I can. The PTA puts on something called the BOO HOO Breakfast for all the kindergarten parents. I had to laugh when Mrs. B invited me to it. All parents are invited, but I thought I might need a good Boo Hoo that day. ;0)

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley
