dad visits~

this weekend my dad came up for a visit.
we were originally going to go to the park, however their was a birthday party going on and so we decided to go to the arboretum.here is gramps with the kiddos!
we walked around for a while looking at all the different rocks and flowers.here is cullan doing some crazy pose. i'm not sure exactly what he is doing. it was funny though.
we stopped to get a group picture. this is about the best we could do. we stopped and fed the fish. i tried to get all the kids picture on this rock. briea was making the funniest face. i have no idea what that is about.while the boys played in the sand, briea just hung out and sat with grandpa for a while.kael hung out with grandpa too. i don't know if we have one picture of kael just smiling. he is always doing something crazy!we decided to head out. grandpa decided to try out the back pack. briea just went along with it. she is not very picky as long as whoever is carrying it, is moving.
after the arboretum we went and had some lunch and then off to the big surprise.
we tried something that the boys had never done before.here they are waiting in line.they were so excited... they could hardly wait! And off they went.....Zooming around the track!cullan LOVED IT!!! all he wanted to do was go FASTER!!!kael did NOT LIKE IT!! i think that he ended up crying the last two laps. he was just laying his head on garran.so on the second ride, grandpa ended up riding solo. kael was a great fan but not so much for driving. kael was even a little leery of going to sit in the car after they were done racing. grandpa really wanted a picture with kael like he had with cullan so kael compromised and just sat on grandpa's lap for a minute.
all in all it was a fun visit and the boys had a great time!
thanks grandpa for coming to visit.

What a fun day! I can't believe how big everyone is getting! I am so excited to come home for a few days to see everyone. I know the time will go by so fast, but I am looking forward to it!

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley
