day 5~

day five was a very busy day. my mom and i got up that morning and began running errands for my sisters birthday party. we were gone most of the morning. when we got back we were all standing around talking and thought it would be fun for the boys to play in the sprinkler. i headed to kmart to find one of those fun sprinkler things but came up empty handed. instead we found a super cool slip-n-slide on sale for $7.00. =)

the boys were not sure at first. but after a little explanation, they were ready to give it a try.

cullan went down first with a little help from daddy running along side.

then he was ready to try it on his own.

i might add that the water was freezing. it did not help that the only place to put it was in the shade. it really was the only place. i think it would have lasted longer had it been warmer!

kael went down once and that was it for him. it was to cold!!! he was a good encourager though. (im not even sure that is a word?) anyways he clapped and yelled for everyone else to go down!

cullan went down a few more times and then decided it was too cold for him as well. you know that where there is fun to be had, that daddy is going to get in on it. i have two videos of him. the first one is really long and it just would not upload. so you get the short version!

afterwards it was so cold daddy and cullan decided to sit in the "HOT TUB"..

it really did feel like a "HOT TUB" after going down that slip-n-slide. the pool had been sitting out in the sun for about an hour. so it was warmer. cullan thought it was great that garran got in too!
five days down one to go.
the last day of our vacation was the big 21st party!!

LOL! I love how at the end of the video the boys were saying that it was your turn!

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."
