day 2~

day two was ...
the children's museum.
it was supposed to be the zoo but it was raining.
the kids absolutely loved it. there was so much there for them to do. i know this post has a lot of pictures but i actually had to scale back. if you are ever in omaha, this is a great place to visit.
when we first got there, there was a chair that you could sit on and it would start playing music because of the weight of your body. it was really cool and the boys like it a lot.
once we got inside we went straight to the ball room. oh my goodness this was so much fun. they had all these tubes and you could put balls in and then they would go all over the room through the tubes and they would end up in the middle of the room. the picture above is one of the ways you could push the balls through the tubes.
the balls would drop every few minutes and all the kids would wait underneath it. it was so funny to watch.cullan thought this was pretty cool. these tubes had air shooting out of them and you could put balls over it and they would float. cullan even got two going at one time.
kael man was amazed! he would get his floating and then hit it like a baseball. it was so fun because it did not matter. this place was great for kids. there were balls flying everywhere!
like i said perfect for my kids. you had to jump on this pump to get the balls up into the tubes to get to the center drop area!

next we went to the play-pretend area. it had a mini grocery store, small house, water station, fire station and an old time fire truck that the kids could play on. plus they had tons of dress up clothes. SO MUCH FUN!--k-man driving the fire truck!
cullan stayed at this station forever. how cute is he. he kept calling himself "fighter fighter cullan" he seriously played on the firetruck for about 30 minutes. he would not leave until we finally told him it was really time to share the outfit with the other kids. we did not rush him before that because they had quiet a few fireman outfits.
after all this fun we went to what i called the creative center.
they had all kinds of hands on stuff that your kids could do.
there was finger painting. kael had so much fun. i'm sad i cant find his picture right now. i think it is out in the van somewhere. everyone that worked there was so friendly and totally got that kids MAKE A MESS! it was great.
they also had a stage area where kids could put on plays. so if you are going to have a stage you have to have a place to do your stage makeup. my boys ended up looking like war paint!
he is such a big boy. he did this all by himself.
kael thought it was great that it was OK to paint on his face. not very often is that ok when we are out in public.
then we did some dancing. i don't know if i mentioned that garrans parents were on this trip with us, but they were. it was so great having them there. it was nice to have their company but also nice to have an extra set of eyes watching your kiddos or holding your 3 month old when going to a crazy place like this!
anyways on to the dance room. this room was completely black. it had a sensor and a huge screen. they had fun music playing and you would dance and your body would be in all different colors and shapes on the screen. cullan loved it, kael was a little unsure.
in this picture garran, cullan and grandma G are dancing. can you make them out? cullan is the one with his foot up in the air =)
we ended the day with a carousel ride. you can see grandma g off to the left. her back is kind of to us and then garran and cullan are to the right. the boys had so much fun and so did we. although i think the adults were tired and ready to go long before the kiddos were.
thanks grandma and grandpa G for coming with us and having fun!!

We have never been to this one. This is one to add to the list of places to go. Bradyn would be deliriously happy here. Balls are his world.

our story

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."

-President Gordon B. Hinckley
