leggin-lovin~

the other day at target i found these cute little leggings in the baby dept.
i feel in love.
some of my friends had them this past winter, but the boys were to big and I did not know if i would like them on briea.
I do!she is the chubbiest little thing i have ever seen.

she is getting so much better at reaching for things and picking them up.
already reaching for her cell phone LOL!

she was just so cute in her new leggings and all her sweet baby chub that i had to share a few pictures.

archives~

these are some old pictures that i forgot to post.
some of them are so cute though, so i decided to add them on here.
we were out at garrans parents house while they were on a trip doing some stuff out there and letting the kids play!
garran got a hold of the hose and the fun began!
the boys would run around him and act like they did not want to be sprayed...but they did!
cullan was soaked from head to toe!
they love being outside and playing in the water.
kael was too for that matter.
he was so funny running around with his big squishy diaper!he was even more cute tough with it off.i think he was wishing their was something in that fire pit to warm him up.
after playing in the water, the kids went inside to clean up and garran started to grill.
the boys played in their pjs for a while and then garran decided it would be fun to have a boys camp out in the backyard! garran set up our tent so that he, cullan and kael could play and have a boys camp out. the boys loved it. they were really excited. however kael fell asleep before they even made it out to the tent!garran just scooped him up and took him out there. he slept the whole time.
garran said cullan sat up for a while talking with him and eventually feel asleep after singing a few songs. the next morning when the came in cullan announced very happily "mom i slept in a tent ALL NIGHT!"cullan and kael played until we decided it was time to go. i thought this was cute. cullan climbed in one of grandmas bags and was pretending to do something. i can not remember now what it was but he just looks cute i think!

he had finished round one and was on to round two.
all of a sudden i hear..
"mom this is not perfect..mom this just is not perfect"
i don't know that i have ever made anything perfect for dinner but this made me laugh!

crazy day~

today was no ordinary day.
while at church the tornado sirens went off.
someone told me it was the first time in almost 30 years it has happened during church.
anyways they moved everyone into the hallways, where we sat for almost an hour.
i was really impressed. they had all the nursery kids busy with snacks and songs.
the older kids played with play dough, got some candy, and talked with their friends.
everyone did really well considering how long we sat and the fact that it was insanely hot!
anyways, by the time we got home, my kiddos were bouncing off the walls with energy!
they were jumping on me trying to give me kisses and tackling me.
garran decided to snag a few pictures since i am never in anything that gets posted on here!kael is my little lover!
he loves to give hugs and kisses.
(my eyes always seem to be closed in almost every picture. so annoying!)
i am not sure what was happening here, however they both were pulling on my neck.
mom and briea-baby!
she is so dang cute!
i told you they were wild.
bouncing off the walls!
ironically we squeezed a nap in.
thank heavens for small blessings right!?!?!

sweetness & salsa~

this little girl gets more hugs and kisses than anyone i have ever met.
between her dad, myself, cullan and kael, i think she gets kissed every few minutes.
she seems to tolerate it pretty well. hopefully she knows that the boys mean well.
we all just love her bunches and bunches.

on a whole other note, i have been hunting for a new salsa recipe.
i have finally found one here!
this is a great website that has all kinds of great info.
aren't these colors great. it is delicious!

arboretum~

the other night i was so sick of sitting in my house so after dinner, i decided to pack the kids and grab the hubby and head out to the arboretum!
yes we have been there a lot. it is one of our favorite places during the summer.
all the kiddos together. they are so cute.
kael had a sweet smile, cullan has cute ears, briea has chub EVERYWHERE!
it is great!this is the boys posing!
they did this all on their own. can you tell?
i love the look on kaels face.so we headed down the first path.
what cullan is doing.. i have no clue. it makes me smile though.cullan and kael found these rocks.
they were so cute just sitting there hanging out.lil miss just hung out in her stroller, enjoying the view and chewing on her stroller strap!we stopped at the fish pond. this is kael being some kind of super hero...i think?.?of course we had to stop at the dinosaur pit. the boys really enjoy digging in the sand.then off to the butterfly gardens. we did not get to see any butterflies but we did see lots of bees. can you see that one hanging on the bottom of that purple flower!on the way back to the play area, the boys had a little spat.
i think cullan tried to apologize but...i think he might have given up.
once we got back to the play area, i took advantage of all the beautiful flowers there. here are a few of my favorites!i love beautiful flowers, summer time and fun times with my kiddos!

parents visit~

this past weekend my parents came up for a visit!
the kids were so excited. we decided to head out to the arboretum and let the kids play.
on our way there was a surprise outside. george brought up a new company car..
a mini cooper.
garran was really excited. he really likes mini coopers..
the boys asked if they could ride in the "cool car"
that is how they refered to it the rest of the afternoon!
the boys in their car seats waving good bye to me.
george told garran he could try it out. garran said it was really fun to drive.!.
the arboretum was great. everything was in bloom and beautiful.
on our way to the play area i passed one of my favorite flowers.
i love these.
i even had them as part of our flowers when we garran and i got married.
we made it to the kids play place that has a sand area, fish pond, and toys to ride on and play with!kael played with every watering can he could find.
i think my mom must have filled it for him a million times.
cullan found his tractor!
that was it. he was happy!briea was not feeling well that day. she was a little grumpy.
but she enjoyed sitting with mom hanging out by the fish pond!
after the arboretum we headed to a different park to have a picnic!
briea started stealing the food right off my plate. she would just sit there with her mouth hanging open waiting for me to let her have another bite!
after a few bites, she was in a much better mood. she started smiling and chatting with grandpa george!after lunch the boys went a played on the playground and grandma decided to give briea a treat!
she gnawed on it for a while and seem to have some fun.
the boys made all kinds of friends while at the park, including a red head that informed cullan that she was his girlfriend!!
see previous post for details ;0)
my parents brought up this guitar for cullan. he is very into guitars.
he loves it.
he plays it CONSTANTLY!!!
garran keeps threatening to help lose the batteries!
ps. aunt monica.. we got your pictures and cullan plays the thomas cd all the time!
thanks for thinking of them!

she eats in style~

young love~

this weekend my parents came up for a visit (pictures to come)
we went to the arboretum and the park where we had a picnic.
while there the kids played.
it was not very busy. only two other families.
however there was this little curly red headed girl that was cullans age.
they were playing together and at one point cullan came over to me.
i asked him if he wanted anymore lunch.
he said "no i want to play with my girlfriend".
then a few minutes later i heard cullan yelling.
i went over and heard him say
"you are not my girlfriend anymore"
i decided to stay close so that i could monitor the situation.
cullan was up on the top and slid down the slide. (his little girl-friend was up at the top)
he yells over to me.."mom she said that she is still my girlfriend, but i told her NO YOUR NOT!"
needless to say they made up and played nicely for a while.
then i went over to tell cullan and kael it was time to go.
the little girl came over and took cullan by the hand and said
"i will miss you!"
blahhh...IM NOT READY FOR THIS!
;0)

our story

My photo
Midwest, United States
I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."
