Is someone trying to be funny?

Ok, this has been driving me crazy and all I can figure is that someone is playing a bad joke on me. So for the last two days my phone has been ringing off the hook with the same telemarketing company telling me that I sent in my information to them. They say I signed up online, which I did not. IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY! I keep telling them I did not sign up and that what they are selling does not even apply to me. ARGG! They keep saying they will take my name off but yet they keep calling. I am going nuts people.. I really do not like telemarketers.

My Very Own Conspiracy Theroy

Recently I have been spending many hours in waiting rooms of Dr.'s offices. We have taken the boys to the dentist, pediatrician, we have gone to the dentist ourselves and other doctors etc and so on... Anyways what I have noticed and what is baffling to me is that no where in the waiting rooms, hallways leading to the individual rooms, or the little room you are worked on in do they have any clocks. Are all doctors offices in like some kind of time warp. I mean I know that some of the doctors that we go to are definitely not what you would call speedy when it comes to how long you have to wait in that little room after you have already waited for ever in the lobby for someone to call your name. But how do they function. Is everyone that works there required to wear a wrist watch. And who cares if the patients know just how long they have been sitting there. I mean odds are they have a watch or cell phone that they have with them and they know exactly how long they have been siting out there anyways. If any of you nurse friends or others that know the answer to this, please let me know.. I'm just curious!

Do you Ever???

I am just wondering......

1. Do you ever get sick of road ragers cutting your off and then acting like it is your fault???
2. People that call your house trying to sell you something, but then are rude to you when you tell them that now is not a good time???
3. People taking two parking spaces in front of your house or at a store when clearly they only need one... but just don' t seem to care??
4. Do you ever get tired of people, usually teenagers using horrible language in front of your young impressionable children, who are learning new words every day.....

This last one really bugs me, we live in an area where colorful language can be heard threw our very own walls.. Oh well Garran and I laugh every time we see this commercial it!! Enjoy!

I was really suprised...You should try this!

WHAT IS YOUR REAL AGE!
Ok so here is the deal.. I rarely watch Oprah, however I happened to catch it yesterday with Dr. Oz. I really enjoy watching his shows because I think he gives a realistic perspective on things. I like that he is hopefull, and that he tells you that it is never to late to turn things around. So yesterday on Oprahs show they had this quiz that you could take to see what your real is age as opposed to your calander age. If you want to see the show or a clip of it you can go here. They had a few different people in the audience share their results. I could not believe how good and how bad the results were. However with the bad of course came suggestions to fix and reduce your real age to get it closer or less than your calander age. So I decided to be brave and post my results. I don't know why this seems stressful to do but it is...

My calander age is 27!
My real age is 30!
After you take the quiz they give you like an eleven page print out of what you can do to lower your number.. I have a little work to do. 3 years is not horrible but if I can get them back by making a few simple changes I will.

If you want to take the quiz go here.

I know it is a goal of both mine and Garrans to try and improve the general health of ourselves and our family. We want to stick around for a while to see our kids, grandkids, and who knows what else.. Let me know if you try it... I will be interested in hearing what you thought.

Question for the masses! (warning I rant a little)

So I was chatting with two of my friends on seperate occasions and we had different coversations but on both I thought I would write a blog about. Now I am not pointing fingers at anyone I am just sending this out into the world of blogging more to vent than anything.. As you can guess my day has not started off well. Ok.. So the first is customer service. What is the deal? Why do we let people at stores be so rude to us? Don't they understand that we are the customer. We can easily take our business else where. Yes it may only be one measly family but I don't know if stores and companies remember this one little thing. Word of mouth can be very powerful. If everytime I am in a coversation with someone and that company comes up, odds are I will recount my negative experience and in doing that they risk not getting that persons business. My friend Mandy recently had to call her cellular company due to an error that was completely on their behalf. She was treated rudely and the SENIOR CALL CENTER LADY that she spoke to try to turn it around on Mandy and say "Well I am sure things don't always run smoothley at your place of employment" I told Mandy if that would have been me, I think I might just have said, actually I am the CFO, CEO etc of Gillespie Inc...and I can tell you that I can approve or deny whatever I want! I just think that companies should think that when we call in with a problem, especially with a problem that is because of something that they are at fault for... then even if they can not fix it immediately, just be polite. There is a lot to be said for just being nice...I will end this part of my rant with something my mother told me all the time WHEN PEOPLE ARE RUDE, KILL THEM WITH KINDNESS!

This is the second part of my rant....see how they kind of tie together. This time my friend Stacy and I were chatting about Thank you cards... Again not pointing fingers.. just sending this out to the blogging world.. Again just a rant. Anyways I was asking her if she ever got thank you notes for things anymore. I had just realized recently that I can not remember the last time that I got a thank you note. (I take that back, I do know of a select few people who are very good about sending thank you notes) Anyways we were discussing this and wondering is this small group of people the only ones that still do this gesture. I guess this poriton is kind of a question. I am curious how many people still send out thank you notes? Stacy and I both disguessed how we were raised to send out thank you notes for just about anything. Not just when we recieved gifts but when someone did service for us or something nice. Now I am not perfect, I sometimes have missed a few here and there. However I try my hardest to get them out with in a few weeks of whatever the thing is I am thanking that person for. So this is the thing Stacy and I were wondering..Are we a dying breed? Has everything become so electronic that we are just sending emails? Have we just abonded the thank you note all together? I am just curious? I went back and forth about writing this because I did not want to offend anyone who maybe thinking at this moment---did I send her a thank you? I don't care.. We just were wondering if we did not get the memo about not doing it or doing it electronically.. Let me know how you do it or if you do it at all? I am just curious.....

Please I am dying to know what people think about this???

While the Backstreet Boys are reportedly on the verge of getting dropped from their record label and while NSYNC seems like nothing but a distant memory, the group that started it all may be back to fill the boy band void. New Kids On The Block, the boys that gave teen girls plenty to scream about in the late 80s and early 90s sent a message to fans - via their recently revamped website - that an exciting and ground-breaking development is in the works. Accoring to E! Online, People magazine has reported that the development is that all five New Kids (Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, Jonathan Knight and Danny Wood) will soon be returning to the pages of teen magazines as they put back together the once-fractured group. There has been no official word by the group but the site seems to state the obvious. As a fuzzy television set flickers on and off, different photos of the group flash by. "They rose from the streets of Boston," the site says. "To become the biggest band in the world. They influenced a generation. They sold over 70 million albums and grossed more than one billion dollars. Five multiplatinum albums, 10 top 10 singles, five number one singles. Then they walked away from it all. Millions of fans around the world await their return. Are you ready?"

I love the saying "the best thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother". My husband does an amazing job of that. I am truly married to my best friend. We laugh often and try to see the best in every situation, or at least find the humor in it. We have four beautiful children. Cullan (7) Kael (6) Briea (3) and Ayla (2). We are currently living in Illinois while Garran attends Grad School. He is a talented print maker and is enjoying his time here. He has a website if you are interested. www.garrangillespie.com Right now we are living every day to the fullest and trying to have as much fun as possible along the way!!

This explains why I blog so much RIGHT?

“Your journal is your autobiography, so it should be kept carefully. You are unique, and there may be incidents in your experience that are more noble and praiseworthy in their way than those recorded in any other life. …
“What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?”
Elder Spencer W Kimball!

I need to read this every morning!

"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It all works out in the end. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers."
